The animals are an integral part of life at ALP as you will experience when you visit! They are a constant source of wonder and delight for which we are all very grateful...
So let them introduce themselves...
Hi, I'm Mingo, and that's my friend Nuno. We are responsible for land maintenance and soil fertility...we spend most of the day and night munching. Every few days people come around and shovel up our poop, god knows why but it means that there is all the more to munch when the grass comes back up so we, and they, are very happy with the arrangement!
Hey, I'm Sam, and I'm in charge of security around here. Some people think I'm lazy.. I just lounge around all day, but actually I work pretty hard out in the forest at night chasing the wild boar away. Who knows what state the garden would be in if it wasn't for me! Sometimes I go for a stroll to the local village to get the news, and secure the perimeter of course. Also there's an old man there who buys me pork sandwiches...
Hi my name is Tux. I have big whiskers and a broken tail. I am talkative fellow and the quinta poet. Rub my belly and I will tell you a poem.."as I wandered lonely as a cat..."
Hi I am Nina the Enlightened dog...gaze into my eyes and I will transmit the joy of freedom and ineffable ever new bliss...except when Sam is anywhere near my food bowl!
I am also the best yoga instructor around here, check it out...
My name is Lola...check this movie one of my admirers made about me...
We are the bees!...a wonderful intelligent organism of love & creativity, we enjoy the freedom of the top-bar hives and make delicious honey!
We are the chickens! We do a lot around here...gobble up all the kitchen scraps, break up all the donkey poop and eat the fly larvae, and sometimes Laura puts us to work in the chicken tractor...and of course we provide delicious fresh eggs!
Hi I am Balu, the latest resident co-creator here at ALP. I left home and starting seeking an evolutionary family soon after I was born, so I am very happy that Laura and Marko decided to adopt me...what a great place to grow up!
