Gift Economy
The Awakened Life Project is, and always has been, about supporting the best and most giving part of ourselves and creating the shared future. We know that Life is fundamentally good and we are here to give as we know that when one gives there is more Trust and Love in this world. So as a step to follow our hearts we decided to experiment with some principles of a gift economy.

This Project is about learning and taking responsibility for the ego in all areas of life - that includes our relationship to money which usually triggers a lot of fear and controlling patterns. We encourage everyone to go beyond limiting ideas and beliefs in this area and open up to a new culture of giving and receiving.

We are constantly facing the question how do we ensure this project is sustainable financially and viable in the long run while facing a world economic crisis. For example, can we make our retreats accessible to those who may not be able to afford to pay the full price considering the expenses we have ?

What we give
We offer discounted prices for our retreats to a limited number of participants, we take into account economic reality in Portugal and Spain compared to Northern Europe and America and provide sliding scale prices for our events.

What we receive
We are a non-profit organization and we are happy to receive donations and gifts. Our main expenses include organizing retreats, running the ashram, supporting its residents and restoring buildings. We accept donations in the form of money, goods and services (if you have skills that might be useful to us). If you are inspired to support us, don't hold back and get in touch.
